AI Tools for Podcasters: Exploring Efficiency and Assistance

Welcome to another episode of Podcasting and Resources, the podcast that helps you discover the tools and resources to enhance your podcasting journey.  In today's episode, we dive into the world of AI tools, particularly those aimed at assisting podcasters in various aspects of their workflow.

A Quick Note About AI
Before we begin, it's important to clarify that AI tools like Chat GPT are powerful assistants but not substitutes for human creativity and expertise. They can take you 80% of the way, but ultimately, you'll need a human touch to deliver your best work.

During my research, I stumbled upon an intriguing blog post about podcast networks that raised some eyebrows. The article mentioned a podcasting discoverability problem dating back to the 90s. Now, we all know podcasting wasn't around in the 90s, so it's crucial to fact-check sources and question inconsistencies.

If you tell me four things and one of them is a lie, I'm not believing the other three.

CastMagic
First up is Cast Magic, offering a $39 per month plan for 200 minutes of usage. However, a lifetime deal for the same price is currently available on AppSumo. Cast Magic provides impressive services such as transcription, title generation, keyword suggestions, time-stamped overviews, discussion questions, and even clip finders. It also offers Magic Chat, allowing you to generate content based on your transcriptions.

SwellAI
Swell AI, starts at $29 per month for five hours of usage. Swell AI generates show notes, transcripts, articles, summaries, and social media posts. It also includes a feature called Swell Chat, similar to Chat GPT, where you can ask questions and receive AI-generated responses. Swell AI supports over 100 languages, making it a valuable tool for translation purposes.

PodSqueeze
Pod Squeeze offers a free account for 50 minutes of podcasting each month, making it suitable for short-form shows. With the paid plan starting at $15 per month for 160 minutes, Pod Squeeze generates show notes, timestamps, newsletters, and more. The platform supports various languages, making it ideal for multilingual podcasters.

Clean Voice - AI Editor
Clean Voice, based in the UK, utilizes AI to remove filler words, stutters, background noise, and mouth noises. It also offers podcast mixing and transcription services. Pricing starts at 10 euros (approximately $11) per month. Clean Voice's AI-powered cleanup can save time for podcasters who prefer writing but require assistance with audio editing.

Capsho
Capsho is one of the pioneers in this field, and offers two plans: Podcaster ($29/month) and Entrepreneur ($99/month).
The Podcaster plan provides episode titles, descriptions, show notes, and transcripts.
The Entrepreneur plan includes additional promotional and engagement features across social media platforms, email marketing, blog posts, and more. Capsho stands out with its monthly live podcast growth master classes, fostering a community of podcasters focused on marketing and growth.

If you're interested in artificial intelligence, better known as AI, today, we have enough AI to choke a horse.Welcome to podcasting and resources, helping you find the tools to enable you to impact your audience faster, smarter, and deeper. Our website, podcasting resources.com. Hey,I'm Dave Jackson from the School of podcasting.com. And today, before we get into our discussion, realize the tools like chat GPT, and all these other AI tools. So many people want to use them, as if it's a clone of you, like it's going to do my job for me. And I'm here to tell you, it's not it can be an assistant. And at times, it will get you 80% of the way to wherever you're trying to get.But in the end, you're going to need a human being. There was a blog post on a website, and I went to it, it was about being in a podcast network. And about halfway down, I was like, wow, this is a really long, detailed article. And then it mentioned the discoverability problem in podcasting. Going back to the90s. Podcasting wasn't around in the 90s. And it's one of those things where if you tell me four things, and one of them is a lie, I'm going to think the other three things you told me are also not true. And I also need to let you know I'm covering these in no certain kind of specific order. They have different prices, they all kind of do the same thing, but not really. And the good news is most of these come with some sort of trial. But the first we're going to talk about is cast magic. And I'll have links to these out in the show description. Now the pricing for this says $39 a month for 200minutes a month. And as I record this, there is a deal on App sumo for a lifetime deal for$39. Now you can kind of stack up those to get more minutes. But that's what I did. And it is impressive. It basically does your laundry for you, you upload your file, and they're looking into basically importing your file from your RSS feed, but it gives you a transcript. And then you can go in and it will give you titles. It will give you keywords, it will give you an introductory paragraph, it will give you a time stamped overview, which is really handy if you're putting chapters into your show. It'll give you discussion questions. So if you want to know what questions were answered in the show, it gives you key topics and bullet points. It gives you clip finders is what they call it,which is quotes, hooks and timestamps. So if you have multiple hosts, it'll come up with quotes from each person, it will give you a real script. So if you're a person that's recording, reels, a LinkedIn post a newsletter, a tweet thread, I mean, it just goes on and on. And then if that's not enough, you can do what's called Magic chat. And this is where you can basically ask the tool,in this case cast magic to write something based on your transcription. So it's a little bit like chat GPT based on your stuff, it's pretty interesting. And you can also share the link with a an assistant or things of that nature. It's pretty impressive. And like most transcripts, it's not 100%accurate. It does have a cool feature where the first time you use it, you can put in your name as the host, and somebody else has a co host or a guest. And then later, if you upload a second episode, you can just put your name in as the host. So in terms of cost effectiveness, this is the one that if you're like, look, I don't want to spend a lot of money on this. This would be one to try out. They even have a free trial if you just want to kick the tires on this, most of these systems do. Next up, we have swell AI.And this will again you upload your episode it spits out shownotes transcripts, articles, podcasts, summaries, Twitter threads, LinkedIn posts, social posts, and titles. I believe you can also do the thing where you ask it a question, kind of like your built in chat GPT Yeah, they call that swell chat. And the pricing starts at $29 a month for five hours. And I was using this for a while. And what I loved about it is if I ran out of time, so let's say there were five Mondays in the month. You could actually order an episode like one at a time. That was really cool. I think Do they even have, you can even pay as you go, which is basically an899 an hour. So it's really pretty cool. They do have a block builder and template, this is something you'll hear and other kind of services like this where you can kind of set it up and it will transcribe the information and set it up in a certain way. It does a ton of stuff. There are also over 100different languages. So if you want to see what your transcript would look like, in a different language, that's one you might want to check out. And again, there's a free trial links in the show notes. Next up, we have pod squeeze, which does have a free account for 50 minutes of podcasting every month. That's kind of interesting. So if you're doing a short show, you could use pod squeeze for absolutely free. And again, what does it do generate shownotes timestamps, newsletters, and more, if you want to go on their paid plan, it's $15 a month for160 minutes of podcast time per month. And they save generated content for ever and they have other plans. 29 depending on what it is. It is kind of interesting that they only say in terms of features. It's always shownotes. timestamps, newsletters and more. And nowhere on the site. Do I see what and more is now I will say they have a boatload of languages. So if you're looking to translate your particular episodes into a different language, this would be it. Now when I go down, I see tweets, blog posts, and titles and again, much more links out in the show notes, simply go to podcasting resources.net/ 55.Next up, we have Clean voice and using the power of AI, they will remove filler words, or stutters or silence or mouth noises. Or they call them integration. So to me, it looks like a pop filter background noise removal. They do podcast mixing, they do podcast transcripts. So if you're looking for something that will do a transcript, and you're a person that you're like, Yeah, I don't really have a problem writing things. But there's a lot of stuttering and cleanup that I need done via the power of AI, you might check out Clean voice now they're based out of the UK. When you look at their pricing page, their lowest plan is 10 euros, which at least in June of 2023 is about 11bucks. So you can basically do the conversion and figure out what the difference is between the two. Again, they do have a free trial, you can upload a file up to 30 minutes and give this a shot to see how good it does. Next up, we have cap show. This is the original This is the one that really jumped in first, they have two plans one is called podcaster. And that is$29 a month for four episodes. Then there is the entrepreneur version. That is $99 a month for four episodes. So with the $29plan, you get an episode title,a description, show notes and transcripts. For the $99 a month you get episode titles, descriptions, show notes,Facebook slash Instagram promotional engagement and educational captions. Then you get LinkedIn promotional engagement and educational posts, Twitter promotional engagement and educational tweets. Tick tock promotional engagement and educational captions. You also get promotional and engagement emails, blog posts, LinkedIn article quotes created from the episode a YouTube description, a transcript and monthly live podcast growth master classes. So that's one thing that sets them apart. Yes, you're getting their tool, but they're also doing monthly masterclass. They have a great community over there. So it's almost like, yes,you get the AI tool. But really what you're signing up for is a community based on podcast growth. It really is kind of a tool primarily made for marketing your podcast and saving you time. And like many of the other tools, they offer a two episode free trial. And again, I'll have links out at podcasting. resources.net/five Five
